John M. Boler (1934-2016) was the Founder of The Boler Company headquartered in Itasca, Ill. Hendrickson is an operating group within The Boler Company.
Founded in 1977, The Boler Company used an asset-based lending technique, which was a forerunner to the leveraged buyout, to acquire a small vendor to the transportation industry. Ultimately, Boler made eight acquisitions the largest of which was Hendrickson.
Boler began his business career with Clevite Corp., later acquired by Gould, Inc., where he was named vice president of international.
A native of Marion, Ohio, Boler earned a business degree from John Carroll University in Cleveland, Ohio. Later he remained active with John Carroll University, where he served as a trustee.
Boler was a member of the board of trustees of Chicago’s Rush University Medical Center, co-chair of the Heart and Vascular Committee and a member of the Anchor Cross Society, a philanthropic organization supporting the hospital. Boler served as chairman of the board of trustees of the former American Cancer Society Foundation. He was deeply involved in the fights against cancer and heart disease, the nation’s leading killers, both of which have afflicted his family members and employees.
Boler met the former Mary Jo Lombardo, his wife of 52 years, while they were attending college. For many years they worked side-by-side on philanthropic endeavors. They have received honorary degrees from John Carroll University (1996) and St. Joseph's College in Rensselaer, Ind., and Ursuline College in Pepper Pike, Ohio (2001).

Elevated from the post of vice president of corporate development for The Boler Company, Matt Boler previously served as general manager of Hendrickson Bumper and Trim located in Joliet, Ill. and director of strategic planning for The Boler Company.
Prior to joining the organization, he held various positions of increasing responsibility in manufacturing and engineering with Motorola.
Boler earned master’s degrees in business administration and engineering management from the Kellogg and McCormick schools at Northwestern University at Evanston, Ill., and holds a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering from University of Notre Dame at Notre Dame, Ind.

Andrew Martin serves as the Vice President of International Operations, out of Melbourne, Australia. He is responsible for coordinating and managing our businesses throughout Asia, the Pacific and Europe. Martin joined Hendrickson in 1995 as Product Support & Quality Manager. In 1997 he was promoted to Engineering Manager followed by tenure as the Managing Director of our Asia Pacific business.
Martin is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Management is also a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. He earned a master’s degree in Business Administration (Technology Management) and a Post Graduate Diploma in Business (Management) - both from Deakin University, as well as double bachelor’s degrees in Mechanical and Computing Engineering with Distinction from Monash University and a Diploma of Company Directorship.

Dave serves as Vice President of Finance for Hendrickson headquartered in Woodridge, Ill. He has a strong financial reporting and analysis discipline which he has applied to our operating units.
In 2005, Dave became the Director of Financial Planning and Analysis for the Boler Company and has most recently held the role of Director of Finance for the Truck Commercial Vehicle Systems.
Dave holds an MBA from Capital University in Columbus, Ohio, and a bachelor’s degree from Walsh College in Troy, Michigan.

Gerry Remus serves as vice president and general manager of Hendrickson’s Truck Commercial Vehicle Systems, headquartered in Woodridge, IL. His responsibilities encompass all business unit functions, including manufacturing operations, purchasing, finance, program management, sales & marketing, engineering, and human resources.
Since 2017, Remus has served as general manager of sales and business development. His responsibilities focused on overall customer relationships and business growth with oversight of the OEM sales & marketing functions. In addition, he had responsibility for the growth and development of the elastomer, specialty, composite, and bus/RV business units. He serves on the board of directors for Hendrickson’s joint venture in India, a post he has held since 2015.
Remus joined Hendrickson as a sales associate in 2000, serving in several positions of increasing responsibility, including Strategic Account Manager, Marketing Manager, Business Unit Director, Director of OEM Sales, and Director of Marketing.
Remus holds a bachelor’s degree in business management from Eastern Illinois University and an MBA from Baker University.

Tom Ryan joined Hendrickson in 2020. Prior to coming to Hendrickson, he served as Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer of Molex LLC a Chicago based Global Electronics Manufacturing firm from 2014 through 2020 and prior to that he served as Director of Information Technology – Europe for Molex. He is responsible for Enterprise Business and Engineering Applications, Digital Services, Network Infrastructure, Operations and Information Security.
Tom holds a degree in Civil Engineering from the Limerick Institute of Technology.

Jeff Wittlinger serves as vice president and general manager of Hendrickson’s Brake and Wheel-End Group, headquartered in Canton, Ohio. The Wheel End and Brake Division consist of MotorWheel, LLC, Wheel End and Brakes, Specialty Axle, and Controls.
Jeff previously held the position of General manager, Trailer Axle and Brakes, where he was responsible for product strategy and new business development.
Jeff became plant manager of the Trailer plant in Somerset, KY., in 2007 after holding a broad range of manufacturing engineering and operations positions for the Hendrickson Trailer Commercial Vehicles Systems.
Wittlinger graduated from Cleveland State University with a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.

Dean Zimmerman serves as vice president of human resources (HR) for Hendrickson, headquartered in Woodridge, IL. His responsibilities include providing strategic direction for the company’s HR initiatives and leading organizational change. Dean also leads the assimilation of new businesses, leadership development, performance development, execution of human resource systems and the company-wide HR Excellence Team.
Dean started his Hendrickson career in 2006 by accepting a HR role at the Mitchell, SD facility. Dean returned to his home town in Canton, OH in 2012 to serve as division HR manager for the Trailer Commercial Vehicle system group and then in 2014 moved to the Lebanon, IN facility as HR manager. In 2017 Dean accepted the director of human resources for the Truck Commercial Vehicle system group in Woodridge, IL.
Zimmerman earned a Masters of Management degree in human resources from The University of Akron and Bachelor of Science degree in business administration and a Bachelor of Arts degree in history from Ohio Northern University. He also holds a graduate certificate in occupational safety and health from Eastern Kentucky University.

Helfried Jelinek serves as General Managing Director of Hendrickson Commercial Vehicle Systems Europe. He is responsible for leading all functional areas of business for the Spring & Stabilizer division in Europe. Jelinek joined Hendrickson Europe in January 2015 as General Managing Director within the Spring & Stabilizer business.
Prior to joining Hendrickson, Jelinek served at Frauenthal Automotive where he was responsible for an automotive business unit in Europe. He was promoted several times from the finance department to recently as general managing director. He has a certified controller diploma as well as a commercial high school diploma and specialized training at St.Gallen Business School in Switzerland.

James Parr serves as managing director for Hendrickson UK. He is responsible for leading all functional areas of Hendrickson’s business in the UK as well as supporting all growth and project initiatives. James came to Hendrickson from Xandor Automotive, where he served as Plant Manager. Previously he held positions of responsibility within JCB and Kongsberg Automotive in various capacities, from Plant Management to Global Project Management roles.
James earned a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Staffordshire University and is currently progressing with his MBA from Sheffield Hallam University.

Zhao came to Hendrickson from Haldex, China, where he served as deputy general manager. Previously he held positions of increasing responsibility with ArvinMeritor China Commercial Vehicle Systems; Wabco, China and Shandong Mingshui Auto Parts Factory.
Zhao earned a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Shandong Industry University and an MBA from Australia Southern Cross University.
